Engineering Design Process

The Engineering Design Process is a cyclical number of steps that engineering teams follow to solve problems. The design process is iterative, meaning that we repeat the steps as many times as needed, making improvements along the way as we learn from failure and uncover new design possibilities that lead to great solutions.

Engineers do not always follow the engineering design process steps in order. It is very common to design something, test it, find a problem, and repeat an earlier step to make a modification or change to your design. This way of working is called iteration.
